Rolando Aarons has taken to Twitter to congratulate Sean Longstaff after Newcastle announced on their official website that the midfielder has signed a new four-year deal at St James’ Park.

Longstaff’s future with the Magpies looked to be uncertain as his contract ran into its final months. But after the 3-0 defeat to West Ham at the weekend, Rafa Benitez’s side have received some positive news.

The club have confirmed that he has agreed terms that are set to keep him on Tyneside until 2022. Longstaff is yet to make his Premier League debut for Newcastle, but has been on the bench on a number of occasions and has featured in the Carabao Cup.

The 21-year-old has shown out on loan that he has the potential to make the grade with the Magpies, so it will certainly please a lot of the fans that he has put any questions about his future to bed.
