Chris Wood was a star for Leeds United last season.

Chris Wood enjoyed a hugely successful season at Leeds United in 2016-17. The New Zealand international scored 27 goals and provided four assists in 44 Championship appearances for Leeds.
The 2016-17 campaign was Wood’s best so far in his career. Working under Garry Monk, who is now in charge of Middlesbrough, saw the 25-year-old striker take his game to a whole new level.

Leeds may have failed to finish in the top six of the Championship last season, but the West Yorkshire outfit fans cannot blame Wood for that.
Roger Wilkinson coached Wood at Hamilton Wanderers, and he has explained the reason behind the former West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City striker’s excellent form last season.
“Because he’s six foot-odd, people would always think that he’s a traditional England centre forward, coming in up front and whacking people, and getting the ball and setting up for the striker, but no, he’s a striker in a big body,” Wilkinson told Stuff.co.nz.
“He’s got something that coaches can’t coach, and that’s that he’s in the right place at the right time, and the better strikers all have that ability. He’s a goalscorer, and I think they’ve recognised that.”
During the 2016-17 campaign, Wood showed what he is capable of, and Leeds fans will hope that striker repeats the performances next season.
The Whites will be aiming to end up in the Championship playoffs next season, and the New Zealand international striker will be an important player in that quest.
