Rodrigo Bentancur has told Sky Sports that Dejan Kulusevski is “lethal” and the Tottenham wonderkid’s “qualities are exploding” under the guidance of Antonio Conte – and in a front three with Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.
Still young at 22, Sweden international Kulusevski has already had a hand in 17 goals in 29 Tottenham outings. The January recruit has made an excellent start to life at Tottenham – his injury highlighting how much he is missed.
This season, Kulusevski – who remains on loan from Juventus but with a permanent clause ready to be activated – has scored once and laid on three assists in his nine appearances. He joined Spurs from Juve with Bentancur.
The Uruguayan midfielder gave an interview to Sky Sports and raved about the winger. He says that at Juventus, he did not get the game time required to “explode”, as he is doing at Spurs. He says in a one on one, he is lethal.

“He didn’t have as much continuity there as he has here, but his qualities are exploding now. He helps defensively and he is lethal in one-on-ones. He’s adapted very well with Harry [Kane] and Son. An incredible front three.”
Bentancur: Tottenham wonderkid Kulusevski is lethal, qualities exploding
What a player Kulusevski has turned out to be. When he joined, many were sceptical. Tottenham fans were hoping for a bigger name – but it appeared that Fabio Paratici had simply turned to two Juventus fringe players.
Two players at his old club struggling to play regularly. But their form for Tottenham, especially under the guidance of Conte, has been exceptional. The two are thriving for the North London club, and trusted entirely by Conte.
It is also important to remember that Kulusevski is only 22. Still so young, and producing quality performances as he is doing, he is only going to get better. That is an exciting prospect for Tottenham, Conte and the club’s supporters.
