The brother of Tottenham Hotspur defender Joe Rodon has revealed on Twitter that he’s ‘gutted’ to see him left out of Jose Mourinho’s Europa League squad.
There was no room in the revised squad for the Wales international, who joined Spurs for £11 million this past summer.
Despite some cracking performances as of late, the Tottenham boss revealed that he wanted to be fair to the players who had a role in their group-stage campaign and therefore, the big centre-back had to be omitted.

This is a bit of a surprise, it has to be said.
Tottenham aren’t exactly flush with quality centre-halves, so to leave one out is a bit of a shock.
Winning this competition might be the Lilywhites’ best route into the Champions League next term because, as things stand, they’re seven points behind Liverpool in fourth.
But leaving Rodon out does put them at a disadvantage because, simply put, Mourinho is one injury to Toby Alderweireld away from fielding a centre-back partnership of Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier – and that, with respect to the duo, might see them struggle against the better teams.
