Charlie Austin joined Southampton from Queens Park Rangers in January 2016.

Rodney Marsh has suggested on Twitter that Queens Park Rangers should not have sold Charlie Austin to Southampton.
Austin joined Southampton from QPR in January 2016 for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £4 million.
The 29-year-old forward was a massive success for QPR in the Premier League, and scored 18 goals and provided five assists in 35 top-flight games for Rangers during the 2014-15 campaign, according to WhoScored.
The Englishman has had injury concerns during his time at Southampton, and he is not guaranteed a place in the Saints’ starting lineup.
Former QPR forward Marsh has suggested on Twitter that the London club should not have let Austin leave for Southampton.

Queens Park Rangers return?
Austin is out of contract at Southampton in the summer of 2020, according to Transfermarkt.com.
A return to QPR in the summer of 2019 is not feasible given that Rangers are unlikely to get promoted to the Premier League, and a step-down to the Championship is not going to appeal to Austin.
However, if QPR are able to win promotion at the end of the 2019-20 campaign, then perhaps the London club could have a chance of bringing Austin back to Loftus Road.
