Rodney Marsh has said on Twitter that he likes Tottenham Hotspur central defender Joe Rodon a lot.

The former Manchester City and Queens Park Rangers forward made the comment while watching Rodon in action for Tottenham against Newcastle United away from home at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Marsh was impressed by the display produced by the 23-year-old and said that the Wales international centre-back is good enough to play for a top-six club in the Premier League, taking a dig at Spurs.

How did Joe Rodon play against Newcastle United?

Rodon has done well when he has played for Tottenham this season, and the youngster did relatively well against Newcastle at St. James’ Park.

While the 23-year-old could and should have done better for Joe Willock’s goal, he did make some important decisions in the match and was arguably the best defender for Spurs.

According to WhoScored, Rodon had a pass accuracy of 90.6%, won six headers, took 77 touches, and made one tackle, six interceptions and 10 clearances.

The draw with Newcastle will be disappointing for Spurs, but Jose Mourinho’s side are still very much in the race for the Premier League top four.
