Rodney Marsh has reminded Newcastle United fans on Twitter what he predicted about Joelinton back in July 2019.
Back then, the former Queens Park Rangers and Manchester City forward predicted that Joelinton will not score 10 goals for Newcastle this season.
As it turned out, the 23-year-old striker scored two goals and provided two assists in the Premier League, and scored twice in the FA Cup for the Magpies this season, according to WhoScored.
Marsh has reminded the Newcastle fans that his prediction about the Brazilian did come true.
Disappointing season
Joelinton is a good striker and arrived at Newcastle last summer with a strong reputation.
As reported by The Telegraph, the Magpies paid German club Hoffenheim a transfer fee of £40 million to secure the services of the 23-year-old.
However, the striker struggled to make an impact, and despite getting chances, he simply could not score enough goals.
Newcastle and Joelinton will hope that the striker has learned from his experience in his debut season in the Premier League and does better in 2020-21.
Steve Bruce’s side comfortably finished in mid-table in the Premier League this campaign.
