Rodney Marsh has stated on Twitter that West Bromwich Albion have made a good signing in Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
West Brom signed Maitland-Niles on loan from Premier League rivals Arsenal on transfer deadline day.
The 23-year-old, who can play as a right-back and as a midfielder, will stay on loan at The Hawthorns until the end of the season.
Former Queens Park Rangers, Manchester City and England international forward Marsh has praised West Brom manager Sam Allardyce for bringing in Maitland-Niles.
Good signing for West Bromwich Albion?
Given that Maitland-Niles can play as a full-back and as a midfielder, he will be good cover for West Brom in two departments.
The youngster prefers to play in a box-to-box role, as quoted in The Athletic, and if he gets his wish at West Brom, then the Baggies could benefit from his quality and dynamism.
The Baggies are in real danger of going down to the Championship at the end of the season, but Maitland-Niles’s youthful vigour and determination to succeed could be massive in their quest to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
