Celtic boss has commented on the 22-year-old, who is reportedly in demand.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has suggested to the club’s official website that he has no plans of selling defender Jozo Simunovic.
The 22-year-old centre-back has been linked with a January move to Torino, with the Scottish Sun reporting that the Italian club would go all out to sign him this winter.
He, along with defensive partner Erik Sviatchenko, has played a big role in Celtic’s success this season as Rodgers’s side sit 14 points clear of second-placed Rangers.
The Hoops have won 16 of their 17 Premiership outings this season – the other being a 2-2 draw with Inverness – and losing a defender of Simunovic’s calibre would certainly threaten the balance that the Northern Irishman has struck in Glasgow.
Torino were also linked with him this past summer, but Rodgers says that Simunovic is a big part of his future plans at Celtic Park.
He said to the club’s official website: “I think they have probably seen how well he’s been doing.
“He’s only a boy really at 22 years of age and developing very, very well. He’s got all the attributes and still has improvements to make of course, but if you’re a top club you would want someone like him.
“He’s very much a part of what we’re building here.”
