The midfielder has lofty ambitions and Celtic may not be able to keep hold of him for long.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has been speaking to the Daily Record about the Bhoys’ imminent new signing Kouassi Eboue.
The 19-year-old is expected to complete a move from FK Krasnodar once issues regarding his work permit have been resolved, but if Rodgers’ latest comments are anything to go by he does not expect the defensive midfielder to be at Celtic Park for long.

“Kouassi is young and has a lot of ambition,” Rodgers told the Daily Record. “He wants to play in the English Premier League or in Spanish football.
“Celtic is a bridge between his development in Krasnodar and his potential future in the Premier League or La Liga.”
Celtic fans will be all too aware of the difficulty in keeping their best players in Scotland long term, with Moussa Dembele the latest to be gathering jealous glances south of the border.

The likes of Victor Wanyama and Virgil van Dijk have made the move before him and it seems Kouassi has similar ambitions.
That said, he will have to sparkle to ensure he gets English and Spanish sides’ attention, so whatever the long-term brings, Celtic look set to benefit from a very ambitious footballer at least for a few years.
