Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted to the club’s official website that he wanted to sign a creative midfielder this summer, but insists that overall he is happy with the club’s work in the transfer window.
The Hoops boss was relatively busy in the summer transfer window, adding six new players to the squad he inherited from Ronny Deila.
The biggest of those signings was arguably Scott Sinclair as he joined from Aston Villa in a £3.5 million deal.

His business saw him adding across the park, with a new goalkeeper, centre-back, right-back and two forwards all arriving.
And he has admitted that he also wanted a creative midfielder but the right player was not available.
“I wanted to bring in another creative player into our midfield to support the players we had here,” he told the club’s official website.
“We tried everything we could to get the right level of quality player in, but the players we wanted in just weren’t available. I’m more than happy with what we’ve got for now.”

It will now be interesting to see if Rodgers now targets a creative midfielder in the January transfer window.
Much will obviously rest on how his side fares in the coming months, with both domestic and European football to contend with.
Should his side struggle in either, particularly Europe, it is likely that a creative midfielder will be top of his shopping list in the winter window.
