Celtic have been linked Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Michel Vorm in the January transfer window.

According to The Scotsman, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is interested in signing Michel Vorm from Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.
Vorm is a back-up goalkeeper at Tottenham at the moment and is out of contract at the Premier League club at the end of the season, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

Celtic manager Rodgers worked with the Dutchman at Swansea City and knows the 34-year-old goalkeeper well, but wouldn’t it be better if the former Liverpool boss targets someone younger, if indeed he wants someone for between the posts in January?
Craig Gordon is the Hoops’ first-choice goalkeeper, and the Scotland international is 34 years of age. Gordon’s back-up, Dorus de Vries, is 36. Do Celtic need another goalkeeper in his 30s?

Signing Vorm would suggest short-term thinking from Rodgers. The Celtic manager needs to find a talented goalkeeper who is in his early or mid-20s
If Celtic are to become even better than what they are now in Scotland, dominate the Scottish Premiership for years to come, and also make impact in Europe on a consistent basis, then they should be looking at younger players, even for the goalkeeper’s position – not players who are in their 30s and are struggling to get games at their current clubs.
