Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic side are conquering all at domestic level, still unbeaten with just two months of the season remaining.

Yet there is always room for improvement, and Rodgers may already be considering potential transfer targets for the summer.

A player who would stand a strong chance of making an impact is Hertha Berlin forward Salomon Kalou, who will become a free agent this summer.

Kalou is a player Rodgers is well aware of, with The Star reporting in 2012 that he was being tipped to become Rodgers’ first signing at Liverpool.

A former Premier League and Champions League winner with Chelsea, Kalou moved to Lille, where he flourished, scoring 30 league goals in two seasons.

Kalou has spent the past three seasons in Germany, netting 25 goals. Five of those have come this season, from 13 starts.

The Ivory Coast international is able to play on the wing, complementing a central striker, able to score and create.

It is very easy to envisage Kalou, now 31, lighting up the Scottish league in a similar way to how Scott Sinclair has scored for fun this season.

As far as bargains go, Celtic may be hard pressed to find a more suitable player, and his Champions League experience could be vital if the club are to make an impact in Europe’s elite competition.
