Brown is in his 10th season at Celtic, but could have been a Tottenham Hotspur player had Redknapp had his way.

Brendan Rodgers has claimed via the Glasgow Evening Times that Harry Redknapp told him he wanted to sign Celtic’s Scott Brown for Tottenham Hotspur.
Rodgers inherited Brown upon taking the reins at Parkhead in the summer, and has been impressed by midfielder, who he insists would have gotten in to his Liverpool side which came close to winning the Premier League title in 2014.
Bhoys skipper Brown is in his 10th season in Glasgow, having signed from Hibernian in 2007, but Rodgers believes the 31-year-old has had opportunities to leave.

The Daily Record reported interest from Tottenham and Sunderland just two years into Brown’s Celtic career, but the pair are said to have been quoted £14 million.
“I think there was interest,” the Bhoys boss told the Glasgow Evening Times. “I remember Harry Redknapp at Tottenham wanting to take him there, Harry told me that.

“We talked over the years, so there’s no doubt he’s had moves where he could’ve left here.
“But, he was happy in his life and happy here at Celtic. As I said this is a hard place to leave.
“If money’s not the consideration, and listen no one can deny any player or any person the chance to consider doubling or trebling your salary, then other things come into it.”
Tottenham’s move for Brown was said to hinge on Jermaine Jenas to Aston Villa, however the former England international stayed put as Spurs finished fourth in the Premier League that season.
Despite going four years without winning the Scottish Premiership title, Brown has since helped Celtic to five in a row.
