Celtic teenager Armstrong Oxo-Flex is making waves at Parkhead.

Brendan Rodgers has told Celtic TV that Damien Duff is a big fan of teenager Armstrong Oko-Flex, who is already training with the club’s first team.

Oko-Flex, 16, left Arsenal over the summer for a move to Celtic, with the Bhoys landing something of a coup in the teenage attacker.

Capable of playing out wide or up front, Oko-Flex has already shown real promise for Celtic, scoring twice in a reserve game against Falkirk last week.

On Sunday, Oko-Flex was a surprise inclusion in the Celtic first team squad to take on Kilmarnock, though he was an unused substitute.

Fans are getting excited about the Englishman, and it’s likely that he will earn a first-team debut – even if just as a substitute – at some point before the end of the season.

Now, Rodgers has given his thought on Oko-Flex, noting that he is still very young but has adapted well to life in Scotland having left London over the summer.

Rodgers added that new Celtic youth coach Damien Duff has been giving good feedback on Oko-Flex, adding that he has looked ‘very strong’ since the turn of the year, giving Celtic fans plenty to be excited about.

“Armstrong is still very young, he is only 16 but it’s important for the young players in the reserves to get a sense of what it is like to be in and around the first team,” said Rodgers. “He still has a long way to go but he has come in and adapted. He has moved up from London, taken his life up here and there is always that transition period.”

“Since the turn of the year he has looked very strong, we’ve had really good feedback from the guys working with the reserve team, Tommy (McIntyre) and Damien (Duff). That gives him a little taste of what it is like and he’s obviously been training with us.
