Wolverhampton Wanderers signed Roderick Miranda from Rio Ave earlier this summer.

New Wolverhampton Wanderers signing Roderick Miranda has told Sky Sports that he didn’t realise how big a club he was joining.

Miranda signed for Wolves from Rio Ave in Portugal this summer, and he was in the dark about the size of the Midlands club, until he arrived at Molineux.

“It has been a good first few weeks working here because we all got to know each other quickly,” Miranda said.

“When I arrived to do the medical exams I didn’t realise how big the club was, I was very impressed with everything here and the stadium as well.”

Miranda is one of a number of signings Wolves have made from across the European leagues this summer.

Nuno has added an even more cosmopolitan feel to his squad, with a quiet optimism forming around Molineux.

Although many of Wolves’ new players are unproven in English football, there is a feeling that if they adapt quickly, then Nuno’s side could be a force to be reckoned with.

Wolves have enjoyed a fairly impressive pre-season, and their focus will be on starting the new campaign quickly now.

Wolves are in action for the first time in the league tomorrow, when they take on promotion favourites Middlesbrough at Molineux.
