Graeme Murty’s Glasgow Rangers and Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic should keep tabs on Motherwell defender Cedric Kipre.

Scott Sinclair of Celtic goes down from a challenge in the penalty box by Cedric Kipre of Motherwell during the Betfred Cup Final at Hampden Park on November 26, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Both Graeme Murty’s Rangers and Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic have defensive issues, and one should not be surprised if the Old Firm duo try to address that particular department in the summer transfer window.

One defender that both Rangers and Celtic should look at is Cedric Kipre, who has been a star for Motherwell so far this season.

The 21-year-old has made 32 appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Motherwell so far this campaign, providing four assists in the process, according to Transfermarkt.com.

The Ivory Coast Under-23 international defender has proved to be a success in the Scottish top flight, and the Gers and the Hoops would be wise to keep tabs on him.

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson has suggested, as quoted by The Scottish Sun, that the club could sell Kipre at the right price.

Robinson told The Scottish Sun about Kipre: “I’m not actively looking to sell him. It’s the nature of the game when you are talking about talented young players.

“But he won’t go for a small amount of money. We have him on a long contract and he’ll only go for what I value him at.”

Robinson’s comments should entice Rangers and Celtic to at least test the water and see if they can secure the services of Kipre in the summer transfer window – he would prove to be a smart investment in the long run.
