Scottish Premiership rivals Celtic and Rangers both want to sign Thomas Kalas, the defender on loan at Bristol City from Premier League powerhouses Chelsea.

The cynics are out in force once again with Thomas Kalas at the heart of a surprising transfer saga.
The Sun reports that Old Firm rivals Celtic and Rangers are going head-to-head to sign the Czech international in the summer. £5 million-rated Kalas has been scouted by the Scottish Premiership rivals recently though it is claimed that The Hoops are currently leading the chase to take him north of the border.
Now, the 25-year-old has been in fine form during a loan spell at Bristol City from Chelsea this season. So it is no wonder that he is attracting interest from Celtic or Rangers, who have both looked a little shaky at the back this season.

But if you ask the Ashton Gate faithful, Kalas can do better than joining one of the Glasgow giants. Once again, the critics have seized their chance to take aim at the perceived standard of Scottish football with some arguing that he is better off staying in the Championship.
Though the fact that Kalas would be joining one of Britain’s most historic clubs, and could play European football north of the border, should not be overlooked.
