Robin van Persie believes that Manchester United can catch Chelsea in the Premier League.
The Netherlands internationals striker made the comments following the Red Devils’ 1-1 draw with the Blues at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea took the lead through club legend Didier Drogba on 53 minutes, but Van Persie popped up in injury time to score the equaliser.
‘Of course, we can’, Van Persie told Sky Sports when asked if United can catch Chelsea. ‘There is still a long way. Only nine or 10 games have been played and it is not even half way’.
United are currently eighth in the Premier League table with 13 points from nine matches, 10 points behind leaders Chelsea.
