Kieran Tierney was in action for Unai Emery’s Arsenal in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

Robin van Persie praised Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney on BT Sport 2 (10:08pm, October 24, 2019).
The former Arsenal and Manchester United forward was impressed with the display produced by Tierney during the Gunners’ 3-2 win against Vitoria de Guimaraes at the Emirates Stadium in North London in Europa League Group F on Thursday evening.
The 22-year-old left-back did not have the best of games and could have done better for the visiting team’s opening goal, but he provided the assist for Gabriel Martinelli’s goal.
According to WhoScored, against Vitoria on Thursday evening, Tierney played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 88.2%, won one header, took 79 touches, attempted one dribble, and made one tackle and two interceptions.
Signed from Celtic in the summer transfer window, the Scottish youngster has yet to make an appearance in the Premier League, but left-back has played twice in the Europa League and once in the EFL Cup, and now that he has fully recovered from injury issues and has had some valuable minutes of playing time, he could make his debut in the league soon.
Van Persie said about Tierney on BT Sport 2 (10:08pm, October 24, 2019): “I like him. He is a good player, young, confident on the ball. He looks like an Arsenal player.”
