Koch from Leeds from Freiburg in the summer transfer window and has already established himself as an important player in head coach Marcelo Bielsa’s team.
The 24-year-old central defender has recounted the exact moment he realised just how unique and special the Premier League club are.
Koch told The Times: “Once I had signed the contract and left the stadium at Elland Road, there were maybe 100 fans waiting outside. It was then when I really realised how unique this club is and how special the connection with the fans is.”
Important player for Leeds United
Koch has been very good for Leeds and has hit the ground running at Elland Road.
According to WhoScored, the 24-year-old, who can also operate as a defensive midfielder, has played six times for the West Yorkshire club so far this season.
Leeds United are going strong
Leeds are playing in the Premier League this season for the first time since 2004.
The West Yorkshire club are doing extremely well at the moment and do not appear to be in any danger of getting relegated back to the Championship.
