Tottenham icon Graham Roberts has claimed on Twitter that he would not sell Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino for £100million, if he was calling the shots at the north London outfit.

The former Southampton and Espanyol manager has continually received the plaudits of pundits and players alike, as he continues to challenge for the Premier League title with Spurs.

Pochettino, 45, has been widely applauded for his desire to place his faith in youth, as well as his style of play. The likes of Harry Winks, Dele Alli and Harry Kane have all thrived under the Argentinian since his arrival in 2014.

Former Tottenham defender Roberts, who played for the north London giants for six years between 1980 and 1986, claimed that he has “never understood” why managers’ prices are different to players.” He then went onto claim that he not consider selling Pochettino “for even £100million”.

Pochettino is currently preparing his Tottenham side to face bitter rivals Arsenal on Saturday, as the derby kicks off the return to domestic football in the Premier League following the international break.

Spurs will be looking to continue a run against Arsenal that has seen them lose just once in their last seven games against the Gunners, by claiming all three points at the Emirates Stadium and leapfrogging Manchester United – who play later on against Newcastle United.
