Palace man Townsend, who was in good form during the contest, also sent a message to Spurs after the contest.
Although Townsend was disappointed with being on the losing side, he still wished Tottenham the best in their quest to win the title.
Tottenham’s victory against Palace has lifted them to within four points of league leaders Chelsea.
