Everton striker Romelu Lukaku scored twice for Belgium in their latest match.
Roberto Martinez has been quoted by ESPN praising Everton forward Romelu Lukaku’s finishing ability.
Martinez may have left Everton at the end of last season, but he still works closely with Lukaku, after taking the Belgium job.
And the Spanish boss has continued to be impressed by Lukaku’s ability at international level.
Belgium have made a fine start to life under Martinez’s stewardship, and they have won every one of their World Cup qualifying matches to date.
Martinez’s side look certainties to be in Russia in 2018, and their latest performance was highly impressive.
Belgium beat Estonia 8-1 yesterday, with Lukaku getting on the scoresheet on two occasions.
And Martinez said: “Romelu has a lot of strength and always attracts attention in the middle.
“As a result, [Dries] Mertens and [Eden] Hazard had more space. The cooperation between the three was quite good.
“If Lukaku gets a look at the target, his finish is always pure. His goals are a reward for his work.”
Lukaku’s attention will now return to Everton matters, with Belgium’s next competitive match in March.
Lukaku looks likely to start in Everton’s upcoming contest with Swansea City on Saturday.
