The Chronicle have reported that Roberto Martinez is among three managers who are keen on taking the Newcastle United job.

Erik ten Hag and Lucien Favre are also interested in becoming the new Newcastle boss.

Steve Bruce is in charge of the Magpies at the moment.

However, it is being reported that the new Newcastle owners will sack Bruce before the Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur this coming weekend.

Exciting for Newcastle United fans

Martinez is in charge of Belgium at the moment.

Now, you would think that the former Everton manager will want to stay in charge of Belgium until the 2022 World Cup finals next year.

However, based on the report in The Chronicle, it seems that 48-year-old Spaniard is keen on taking the role at Newcastle.

It is really very exciting.

Martinez is a very good manager who did well at Wigan Athletic and Everton.

Former Wigan owner Dave Whelan described Martinez as “brilliant” in The Telegraph in May 2012.

Martinez plays attacking football and is a good man-manager.

We think that Martinez would be a very good managerial appointment for Newcastle.
