Everton take on Manchester United in Premier League action this weekend.
Roberto Martinez has confirmed that John Stones should be fit to play for Everton against Manchester United this weekend.
Stones has not played a match since the late September, and he was forced to miss the recent Merseyside derby against Liverpool through injury.
However, a two week break from club action seems to have served the youngster well, as Martinez has confirmed he is back to full health.
Stones’ return to the Toffees’ first-team will be a major boost for the side, even though they have coped well in his absence.
Ramiro Funes Mori has stepped into Everton’s defence and performed well, during his first taste of English football, but Stones is a more secure option.
The 21-year-old has become a prominent figure in the Toffees’ team, and his ability to play the ball out from the back makes him key in Roberto Martinez’s possession based system.
If Stones does return against United, he will be determined to help his side to victory, as Martinez’s men could move into the Champions League spots if they are able to pick up the three points.
