Everton winger Theo Walcott scored his third goal since moving to Goodison Park last night.
Martinez was working as a pundit last night, and he backed Walcott to go from strength to strength at Everton.
The former Arsenal man only moved to Goodison Park in January, but he has already shown flashes of quality.
Walcott scored the winner last night, as Everton got past Newcastle United to pick up a 1-0 victory.
And Martinez said: “Goodison Park is not an easy place to play your football, but I think Theo comes across as the type of player and person that would embrace that expectation around the ground; someone that can make the final move, use his pace to penetrate and get the fans on the edge of their seat.
“I’m sure the longer he can be at Everton, we could see the best level. He’s the type of player that can get a lot of confidence in a ground like Goodison.”
Walcott now has three goals in his first 12 Everton appearances, and he has also contributed two assists.
Walcott played much of the match on the left-flank for Everton, and there are suggestions that he could now hold on to that position for the rest of the season.
Everton’s victory over Newcastle last night ended Rafael Benitez’s side run of four straight wins.
The Toffees have now sit in eighth place in the Premier League table, with just three games left to play this season.
