Nedum Onuoha has said on The Friday Night Football Social on BBC Radio 5 Live that Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino is very unique.
The BBC pundit has said that despite being a number 9, he does not play like that and is unique.
The former Manchester City defender made the comments about Firmino while discussing Liverpool.
Onuoha said: “The way Firmino plays, he is very unique. Not many 9s play like that in the Premier League.”
Important player for Liverpool
Firmino does not score a lot of goals, and there have been suggestions that Diogo Jota should now take his place in the Liverpool starting lineup.
Now, Jota is doing well for Liverpool at the moment, but what Firmino has done for the Reds over the years cannot be understated.
The 30-year-old has helped the Reds win the Premier League and the Champions League in recent seasons.
Firmino, who can operate as a forward or as an attacking midfielder, does not score a lot of goals, but he allows players like such Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane to weave their magic.
The Liverpool no.9 has scored one goal in the Premier League and two goals in the Champions League so far this season.
