Aston Villa have won just one match so far this season.
Roberto Di Matteo has told BBC Radio West Midlands that he does not feel he has lost the support of Aston Villa’s supporters.
Villa fans audibly booed at the full-time whistle yesterday, after the team once again conceded late on against Brentford.
Villa had looked to be heading towards three points, but an 88th minute strike from Jon Egan meant that the Bees got a share of the spoils.
It was the fourth time that Villa have conceded a late goal this term, and Villa fans’ frustrations were heard loud and clear.
However, when asked if he felt that the fans were beginning to turn on him, Di Matteo said: “No, we had a terrific game Sunday.
“First half today that was also the case, but second half wasn’t good. Certainly the beginning of our season, in terms of points, is not very good. We can all see that, and I think we all share that frustration.”
Villa scored their goal against Brentford through Jonathan Kodjia, after putting in an encouraging performance in the first-half.
By full-time, though, Brentford were deserving of their point – after putting in an impressive second half showing.
Villa have still only won one match so far this term, and they are currently stationed in 17th place in the Championship table.
