Villa signed Adomah on a four-year deal from Middlesbrough on transfer deadline day.
Aston Villa manager Roberto di Matteo has told the club’s official website that he is delighted to have been able to bring winger Albert Adomah to the club and highlighted his experience of winning promotion from the Championship as key.
Villa signed Adomah from Middlesbrough on transfer deadline day for an undisclosed fee, with the 28-year-old Ghana international signing a four-year deal.
The winger has been a key player for Boro in the Championship over the last three years, scoring 23 goals in 128 league appearances in the second tier.
Now he has joined the ongoing revolution at Villa and Di Matteo admitted that he was “really happy” to have secured the star’s signature.
Di Matteo told the Villa website: “Albert is a player I’m really happy to have brought to the club and like others he knows what is required to win promotion from the Championship.
“He is an attacking player who creates goals and I’m confident he will be an impressive addition to the group.”
As alluded to by the Italian manager, Villa’s transfer policy this summer has been clear – Adomah is the club’s fifth signing who boasts experience of winning promotion from Championship.
Tommy Elphick, Mile Jedinak, Richie de Laet, and James Chester have all also experienced the success of reaching the Premier League, and Di Matteo and club owner Tony Xia are clearly hoping that this will reap reward for Villa this term.
