Roberto Di Matteo has admitted that he is working hard to add attacking reinforcements to his Aston Villa squad, in quotes published on the club’s official website.
The Villans have built from the back this transfer window but hope to add more options going forward before next Thursday.
“It’s difficult to comment on how close you are on any potential signing. Once we have something to announce, we will,” said Di Matteo.

“We are still trying to finalise some signings for us to help us in that department. There’s a lot going on. But I can’t give any more information on it at the moment.”
Villa have been among the most active clubs in England this summer; undergoing a complete overhaul of their squad in a bid to return to the top flight at the first time of asking.

The initial focus has been on strengthening the defence with the arrivals of Ritchie De Laet, Tommy Elphick, James Chester, Pierluigi Gollini and Mile Jedinak.
Added to this group are promising midfielder Aaron Tshibola and the prolific Ross McCormack up front.
