Speaking on the BBC Radio 5 Live Football Daily Podcast, Robert Snodgrass has hailed Leeds’ Marcelo Bielsa as one of the best managers in the Premier League.
Snodgrass was speaking about the Scotland squad, and after Liam Cooper’s call-up, Leeds United were obviously the topic of conversation.
Snodgrass believes that Cooper is certainly good enough to start for Scotland at the Euros due to the fact he’s managed by Bielsa and is starring in a high-flying Leeds side.
“My centre-back partnership would be Cooper and Hanley,” Snodgrass said.
“Hanley has of course got a lot of confidence from just being promoted to the Premier League and as Pat says, he fits the bill in terms of physicality.”
“Liam Cooper is in a Leeds side that is flying-high, he’s the captain and he’s working under a manager who is one of the best in the Premier League.”

Snodgrass is certainly right about Bielsa.
The West Brom man is of course a former Leeds player, and these comments make us wonder what he would have been like under Bielsa.
Of course, Snodgrass doesn’t have the pace he once had, but he has a wand of a left-foot and could have been a brilliant Bielsa player in his pomp.
Sadly, their paths never crossed at Leeds, but it’s clear that Snodgrass rates Bielsa as one of the top coaches in the world right now.
