West Ham United winger Robert Snodgrass and Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke are pleased with Aston Villa’s win against Derby County in the Championship playoff.

West Ham United winger Robert Snodgrass has taken to Twitter to congratulate Aston Villa on winning promotion to the Premier League at the expense of Derby County.
Villa have won 2-1 against Derby at Wembley Stadium in London in the Championship playoff final.
Anwar El Ghazi put Villa in the lead after 44 minutes, and John McGinn doubled the advantage on 59 minutes.
Derby halved the deficit on 81 minutes through Martyn Waghorn, but the Villans held on for the win.
Snodgrass spent the 2017-18 season on loan at Villa from West Ham, and the 31-year-old former Leeds United and Norwich City winger has congratulated Dean Smiths’s side on winning promotion to the Premier League.

Christian Benteke, who joined Crystal Palace from Liverpool in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £27 million, was on the books of Villa from 2012 until 2015, and he has revelled in the success for the Villans.
Former Villa striker Emile Heskey has also congratulated the Villans on Twitter.
