Aston Villa winger Robert Snodgrass scored his first goal for the club in midweek.
Robert Snodgrass has told the Birmingham Mail that he has only just got going at Aston Villa.
Snodgrass has joined Villa on loan from West Ham United, and he has been thrown straight into Steve Bruce’s side’s first-team.
The Scottish international put in his best performance to date in Villa’s last match, which they won 4-0 against Burton Albion.
Snodgrass scored his first goal for the Midlands club at the Pirelli Stadium, and the winger admits that it has taken him a while to get up to speed.
“I’ll be honest with you, it’s taken me three or four games to get going,” Snodgrass said.
“That’s normal having not had 90 minutes throughout pre-season or anything like that.
“But I’m delighted to have scored because that’s what I was brought here for – to score and create goals.”
Snodgrass’ arrival at Villa has helped spark an improvement in Bruce’s side’s form.
The claret and blues have now won their last three league matches, after their best run of results for some time.
Villa’s victory against Burton has seen them move up to eighth in the Championship table, with optimism rising around Villa Park.
Bruce’s men are next in action at the weekend, when they take on struggling Bolton Wanderers.
