Danish attacker Robert Skov took just six minutes to find the scoresheet last night in his country’s European qualifying win over Gibraltar.

Most notable was that his assist came from Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen, who himself scored a penalty 14 minutes later.

Skov scored 29 club goals last season for Copenhagen and was subject of interest from teams around Europe.

Sky Sports reported that Tottenham were one of the teams interested in his services.

Spurs chose not to push for Skov, and he signed with Hoffenheim instead in late July.

Last night the forward’s link up with Eriksen highlighted one of the reasons Spurs perhaps should have taken a gamble on the exciting 23-year-old.

Eriksen factor

With doubts over Christian Eriksen’s future, adding a talented Danish colleague could have helped persuade the playmaker to extend.

This could have helped Eriksen perhaps, want to act as a mentor to the youngster, who has great potential.

For Spurs it could have really been good to see the pair linking up at club level and develop their partnership.

Even without considering Eriksen, Skov has the ability to make Spurs consider not signing him an error if he follows Roberto Firmino and Joelinton by thriving at Hoffenheim.
