Former Arsenal midfielder Robert Pires has told the club’s official website that something has clicked for Mesut Ozil this season.
The German star has been in fine form for the Gunners this season, playing a key role in their strong start to the campaign.
So far he has managed seven goals in all competitions, the second most of any Gunners player and just one short of the eight he managed throughout last season.

The fact that was the most he has managed in any campaign since arriving at the Emirates in 2013 demonstrates just how well he has been playing.
His performances have earned rave reviews and Pires says something has clicked in the midfielder this season.
“Something has clicked. What’s happened in the head is like a click because he’s scored a lot of goals,” he told the club’s official website.
“Mesut Ozil has very good qualities, he can normally score a minimum of 12 goals during the Premier League so in my time the maestro was Dennis Bergkamp, and now it is Mesut Ozil.”

Arsenal will now be hoping Ozil can maintain his form and help them towards a title challenge this season.
He has certainly been impressive so far and will play a key role in any hopes they have of competing at the top of the table this season.
One area they will be hoping he improves in is his number of assists, with him managing just one in the league so far, a disappointing tally for a player who dominated in that area last season.
