Arsenal are currently second in the table while Tottenham are fifth.
Speaking to the London Evening Standard, Robert Pires has stoked the fires ahead of this weekend’s London derby by claiming Arsenal are the best team in London.
Arsenal host Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates on Sunday in arguably one of the games of the weekend.
It is a clash between two teams who are considered title contenders this year, with Arsenal currently second in the table and Spurs three points behind in fifth place.

Of course, the Gunners finished ahead of their rivals last season, pipping them to second place in the latter stages of the campaign.
Indeed, they were the highest placed finishers from London for the first time since 2011/12 and Pires says they are the best team in the capital.
“For me yes, Arsenal are the best in London,” he told the London Evening Standard.
“Chelsea and Tottenham are strong and the Premier League will be tight this year. I don’t know what will happen at the end of the season but Arsenal can win the title, of course.”
“For me, they are a much better team than Tottenham but this season Tottenham have a good opportunity to do well. They have been playing well, especially when they beat City.”

It remains to be seen which team ends up in the higher position at the end of the campaign.
Just a point separated the two sides last season, the closest the two sides have been since they finished a point apart in 2012/13.
Only three points separate them this season and this weekend’s game could go a long way to determining who finishes higher, even at this early stage.
