Robert MacIntyre is well positioned after two rounds of The Open Championship.
MacIntyre posted a second-round 69 at Royal Birkdale on Friday to follow up his opening-round 67.
The 29-year-old Scot has a game that is ideally suited to links golf, what with his ability to flight the ball down and his imaginative short game.
Robert MacIntyre has proven that he has what it takes to win big events on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour.
However, he is still yet to get over the line at a major championship, and maybe The Open represents his best chance to finally get it done.

MacIntyre has had the fans right behind him at The Open this week, and they’ll be in his corner throughout the weekend as well.
He needed every bit of their support out on the links on Friday.
Robert MacIntyre reveals why he needed to ‘reset’ on Friday at The Open
The man from Oban in Scotland spoke to the media after his second round at Royal Birkdale on Friday.
MacIntyre responded when it was put to him that he was talking to himself a lot out on the golf course on Friday.
“I mean, I’m not nice to myself. I’ll be honest, I’m not nice to myself,“ the Scot admitted.
“That’s just the standard I set. When I make a mistake, it’s one of them ones like we just switched off, I felt like for a couple of holes we switched off.

“I had it in — you’re not really getting fliers out of this rough because it’s not green, it’s not lush. So when you’re hitting it, it’s kind of breaking up on you. I feel it when I’m picking the stuff up to throw the grass up, you’ve hardly got any of it in your hand. It’s just like dust.
“When you go into that stuff, you’re not really getting fliers. I think it was 6, it was just a fraction of green. First thing I said, this is going to fly, and I didn’t trust it.
“I’ve played it to come out normal with lots of spin, and it’s come out flying. It’s long left, but it’s an okay mess. That was when I really had to reset what I was doing. We really had to switch on, to be honest, because it was getting — it got out of hand.“
Robert MacIntyre looking forward to the weekend at The Open
MacIntyre was asked whether he likes his position after two rounds at Birkdale.
“Yeah, great spot,“ he replied.
“Can’t really be in a better spot going into the weekend. It’s where I want to be, especially after last week with the game.
“I feel like the game’s in a good spot. I’m missing it in the right spots, the short game sharp, putting’s decent.
“Just maybe hit a few more greens when it’s like this and make life a little bit easier.“
MacIntyre currently sits just four strokes adrift of the lead heading into Saturday at The Open, and he will really fancy his chances of being in the mix coming down the back nine on Sunday.
