Could Leeds United end up in the top two of the Championship this season?
Leeds United goalkeeper Robert Green has suggested to The Yorkshire Evening Post that 93 points would get them promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season.
The West Yorkshire outfit are fourth in the league table at the moment with 69 points from 38 matches.
Garry Monk’s side are eight points behind second-placed Brighton & Hove Albion and nine behind leaders Newcastle United.
Leeds goalkeeper Green has suggested that his side can still end up in the top two and get automatic promotion to the Premier League.
“In general two points a game gets you promotion and if we win every game then we’ll have 93 points, which is one over,” the 37-year-old told The Yorkshire Evening Post regarding a top-two finish.
“It’s a big ask, it’s a huge ask, but with the form we’re in we’re looking up rather than down.”
Can Leeds United finish in the top two?
Leeds have eight games remaining in the Championship this season, and a top-two finish is still possible.
Games against Brentford, Preston North End, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Burton Albion and Wigan Athletic are certainly winnable for the West Yorkshire club.
What could decide whether or not the Whites end up in the top two are matches against Reading, Newcastle United and Norwich City.
