While Ross McCrorie scored his first Rangers goal on Saturday against Partick Thistle, twin brother Robby also impressed on loan at Berwick Rangers.

Ross McCrorie has made quite the impression since emerging in Rangers’ first-team back in September.

Former manager Pedro Caixinha might have set the bar high when he tipped the 19-year-old to be one of the greatest centre-backs in the history of Rangers and Scottish football as a whole, per the Daily Record.

So far, however, McCrorie has done nothing to suggest that Caixinha was overplaying his potential. The teenager starred against Celtic during a daunting Scottish Premiership debut and has kept his place in the starting XI ever since, opening his senior account with a thumping header in Saturday’s 3-0 thrashing of Partick Thistle.

But Ross is not the only highly-rated McCrorie tipped for great things at Rangers. Twin brother Robby, a goalkeeper rather than a centre-back, is also enjoying a breakthrough 2017/18 season – albeit on loan away from Ibrox.

Ross hit the headlines for scoring his first ever Rangers goal on Saturday but Robby too earned plenty of praise this weekend. McCrorie the shot-stopper kept another clean sheet for Scottish League Two side Berwick Rangers in their goalless draw against Annan – meaning he has not conceded in four of his last five games for the lower league club.

Robby arguably has a far tougher task ahead of him forcing his way into Rangers’ first-team plans, there’s only room for one goalkeeper in the starting XI after all.

But continuing these impressive displays should raise hope that he could soon be preventing goals alongside his twin brother at Ibrox in the future.
