Glasgow Rangers claimed a 1-0 victory at Ibrox, but needed midfielder Ross McCrorie to go in goal for the final minutes of the game.

Robby McCrorie has admitted that he has been taking pelters from Rangers fans ever since the Gers’ 1-0 win against Hibernian at the weekend after his twin brother kept a clean sheet for the club before he managed to, in comments reported by the Daily Record.
Ross McCrorie ended Sunday’s game in goal after Allan McGregor was sent off in the final minutes for kicking out as he launched the ball up field. With Steven Gerrard already making his three substitutions, the last of the players to be introduced, McCrorie was asked to go in between the sticks.
Of course, it has not been forgotten that his brother is a goalkeeper, so he may not be best pleased that Ross has managed to notch up his first Rangers clean sheet before him.
And Robby joked that the Rangers fans have had no problem reminding him of that fact in the days since the game.

“I’ve been taking some pelters on social media with people saying Ross has kept a clean sheet for the Rangers first team before me,” he said, as reported by the Record.
“My phone has been pinging away constantly and lot of Rangers supporters have been having a bit of fun but it’s all good.
“I think everyone was surprised at the time but I was pleased for him although the main thing I was happy at was that Rangers ended up winning the game.”

Having joined Morton on loan during the January transfer window, McCrorie will not be available to Gerrard while McGregor is suspended for the rest of this season.
Wes Foderingham is clearly the most likely candidate to replace McGregor against Celtic and Kilmarnock. But with the title now officially out of reach, Gerrard may be tempted to consider one of the younger stoppers, particularly for the clash against Killie.
But unfortunately for Robby, his loan move means that Ross will be able to hold onto the goalkeeper bragging rights until at least next season.
