Sunderland drew 1-1 with West Bromwich Albion before the international break.

Sunderland first-team coach Robbie Stockdale has insisted to the club’s official website that there were plenty of positives to take from the draw with West Bromwich Albion.
The Black Cats were unable to head into the international break on the back of a win as Tony Pulis’ side held them at the Stadium of Light.
They had to fight their way to secure a point in the game as Patrick van Aanholt bagged a late goal to cancel out Salomon Rondon’s opener.

All in all, it was another disappointing afternoon for them but Stockdale insists that they are viewing it as a positive result.
“There were certainly positives to take (from West Brom) and a lot of things to work on,” he told the club’s official website.
“We came out of the game pleased that we had come back and taken a point but we certainly had chances to win the game. We need to start picking up some wins but hopefully, it’s a step in the right direction.”

Sunderland will now be hoping they can start picking up the results they need following the international break.
It has been a disastrous start to the season once again for them but the positive is that this is a regular occurrence for them.
Fortunately, their next two games see them taking on Stoke and West Ham, the teams who sit alongside them in the bottom three at present.
That means they have the perfect opportunity to pick up points and only if they do not may it be time for them to start worrying.
