West Ham United will face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday.

Robbie Savage of BT Sport looks on during the Emirates FA Cup Final between Arsenal and Chelsea at Wembley Stadium on May 27, 2017 in London, England.

West Ham United will face Tottenham Hotspur in the London derby on Saturday in the Premier League.

The last time when the two sides met at the London Stadium, West Ham won 1-0, a game that ended Spurs’ title hopes.

While this is no such crunch defining game at the moment, a defeat for Spurs would be a blow for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Spurs have not been playing well at Wembley, but they have been scoring goals for fun away from home this season.

They scored twice against Newcastle and three past against Everton, so, the Hammers, 17th in the Premier League table, can expect a tough battle.

Popular football pundit Robbie Savage has said that West Ham should focus on stopping Tottenham star Harry Kane on Saturday.

The 24-year-old has scored twice against Everton and Borussia Dortmund, and will be looking to make a strong impact in the London derby.

Kane has a good record of scoring against the London clubs, having managed 19 goals in the London derbies so far.

“Last season, Tottenham went to West Ham on the back of nine consecutive wins in the Premier League, came unstuck at 10th hurdle, and their title challenge expired,” wrote Savage in his column for The Mirror (printed edition, 23rd September).

“This year Spurs have yet to hit their stride as Wembley tenants but they have been lethal on the road, scoring 18 goals in their last four away games alone.

“And Harry Kane’s record of 19 goals in London derbies suggests that Hammers may have their work cur out to repeat their surprise 1-0 win in May.”
