Tottenham currently sit in fourth place in the Premier League.
Robbie Savage has claimed on William Hill’s official Twitter account that Tottenham Hotspur will be lucky to finish in the top places of the Premier League come May.
The Premier League is turning out to be one of the tightest title races in recent history, with only six points separating the top five teams. Manchester United remain outside the top six, sitting in seventh behind sixth-placed Bournemouth.
Spurs’ 3-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday evening saw them leapfrog Unai Emery’s Arsenal into fourth place, with The Gunners only managing a point at home to Liverpool on Saturday.
Despite their current position and five league wins in their last six games – the other being a 1-0 loss to Manchester City – Savage does not believes Spurs will finish in the Champions League qualification places.
“Six points separate the top five teams in the Premier League, so is this going to be the tightest title race for a long, long time? No, it’s not,” Savage said.
“Can Spurs win it? No. They will be lucky to finish in the top four. City will win the title, they’ve got the best goal difference, they can’t stop scoring, they don’t concede goals. City all the way.”
Spurs began the domestic campaign in excellent fashion, breaking their best ever start to a Premier League season after nine games with seven wins and two losses. After 11 games, they sit on 24 points.
However, in Europe it has been a different story. Just one point from their opening three games against Barcelona, Inter Milan and PSV Eindhoven means the north Londoners may be staring at the Europa League, instead of the knockout round.
