Robbie Savage says that Tottenham Hotspur need to sign a player with the ‘wow factor’.

The former Wales international has also underlined the importance of keeping hold of star striker Harry Kane and superb midfielder Dele Alli.

“Where the Gunners sold Robin van Persie and Cesc Fabregas, Tottenham must keep hold of Harry Kane and Dele Alli,” Savage wrote in The Mirror.
“And sooner or later, Pochettino needs to sign a player with the ‘wow’ factor – and raise the ceiling of Spurs’ wage structure – to prove they can compete with the Manchester clubs, Liverpool and Chelsea for the biggest stars.
“Whether that means bringing Gareth Bale back from Real Madrid, or landing a marquee signing along the lines of Didier Drogba joining Chelsea in 2004, that shiny new stadium will need trophies in the cabinet and elite players on the pitch.”

Tottenham have a very good squad that are competing for the Premier League title and have also progressed to the last-16 stage of the Champions League this season.
A big-name player will certainly enhance the quality of the current Spurs team, but do the North London outfit actually need such a player?
After all, things are going well for Tottenham at the moment, and there is no need for manager Mauricio Pochettino to bring in a big-name player just for the sake of it.
As far as re-signing Gareth Bale from Real Madrid is concerned, there is no point in that as the Wales international winger has not progressed much since leaving Spurs in 2013.
