Aston Villa take on Birmingham City in the Championship this Sunday.

Former Birmingham City midfielder Robbie Savage has been on the wind up again ahead of this Sunday’s derby match between Aston Villa and the Blues.

The Welshman took to Twitter to talk about his past experiences of West Midlands derbies, discussing how successful he was in the clashes and how embarrassed he would have been had he been playing for Aston Villa.

Unable to leave it there, Savage returned to his keyboard to take a pop at the players in the Villa sides he beat, insinuating they let the fans down.

Savage played for Birmingham between 2002 and 2005, and was always a player that opposition fans loved to hate, especially if he played for your rivals.

While it has been 11 years since Savage put on the blue of Birmingham, he still has a lot of love for the club; about as much love as he has for winding people up on his beloved Twitter account.

While Villa fans have to take everything he says with a pinch of salt, they will be desperate to beat their rivals at St Andrew’s on Sunday so they can have bragging rights in the area and rub it in the face of Savage.

The clash between Villa and Birmingham will be feisty affair, with Bruce doing well at his new club as he prepares to return to the club he used to manage, who sit above them in the Championship.

It has all the elements to be a great game of football, and you will be able to work out what the result is depending on how much Savage tweets on Sunday afternoon.
