The controversial former midfielder wishes he’d joined the Toffees upon leaving Birmingham City for Blackburn Rovers.

Robbie Savage has admitted on Twitter that he regrets never having played for Everton.
Savage, who retired from professional football five years ago and now works as a pundit for various media organisations, was the subject of three Toffees bids while at Birmingham City in 2005, he previously told the Daily Mail.
However, the Welshman claimed that despite having one of those offers accepted, the Blues changed their mind at the last minute and he ended up joining Blackburn Rovers instead.

Savage spent three years at Ewood Park and even appeared in Europe, but 11 years on he still cannot get over not being able to play for Everton.
When asked by one user if there were any clubs he came close to joining that he wishes he had done, Savage replied: “Everton”.
Savage played just shy of 350 Premier League games in 11 half years, during which time he also appeared for Leicester City and Derby County.

The 41-year-old began his career at Manchester United, where he was part of the 1992 FA Youth Cup-winning side comprising David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt and the Neville brothers, Gary and Phil – the latter of whom would have been a teammate of Savage at Everton.
