Robbie Keane claimed that Harry Kane was ‘unplayable’ during Tottenham’s 3-1 win over Brighton in the FA Cup on Saturday, as he told ITV Sport.

The Spurs legend added that Kane started off the season in a ‘slow’ fashion but he is now starting to ‘look back to himself’.

Kane netted a brace in front of his supporters as Spurs eased past Premier League opposition to put their name into the Fifth Round draw.

It was a fast start by the home side, who forced Brighton into mistakes, before Kane’s curing effort from the edge of the area opened the scoring.

There was some luck for the second when Emerson Royal’s deflected cross hit the back of the net, but it was deserved for how Spurs were playing.

Despite Yves Bissouma making life difficult in the second half, Kane added a third straight after the midfielder pulled a goal back and this is what Keane had to say about Spurs striker.

“I thought he was unplayable today, Harry,” said Keane. “He started the season off slow. But he looks back to himself.

“Him and Son, the way they link-up play. How they drop off and run in behind. It’s very difficult to play against that.

“Players should always have that mindset and attitude anyway. But when you have a manager like Conte and he’s demanding that from the players, then it’s clear to see that.”

Slowly but surely, Kane is starting to rediscover the form that saw him top the goalscoring and assists charts last season.

Given the goalscoring touch at Kane’s feet and the ridiculous runs he can go on, you wouldn’t bet your bottom dollar that the Englishman is still chasing that Golden Boot.

With current top scorer Mo Salah – who is on 16 – away on Africa Cup of Nations duty – it did provide some teams to catch-up on the Liverpool forward.

But when he is back, and he could return with the AFCON trophy in hand, then the Egypt superstar will have a spring in his step.
