Wolverhampton Wanderers showed plenty of promise against Tottenham, but Nuno’s side lacked a goalscorer.

Robbie Keane has told Sky Sports, during their live coverage of Wolverhampton Wanderers’ match against Tottenham Hotspur, that he feels Nuno’s side’s problem is that they lack a clinical forward.

Wolves really pushed Tottenham yesterday, but they still fell to a 3-2 defeat.

Wolves just couldn’t make their pressure count towards the end of the match, as they slipped to their third loss in a row.

And Keane feels that Wolves may well go out and buy a striker in January, as they need to be more clinical in attack.

“I think that’s their problem,” Keane said. “They have good football players, but they don’t have that player who is going to score 20/25 goals. I wouldn’t be surprised in January if they did that [sign a striker] and that could take them to another level.”

Wolves’ number nine is currently Raul Jimenez, and the Mexican has shown flashes of quality during his time at Molineux.

However, his strength arguably lies in bringing others into play, rather than scoring himself.

Jimenez did score from the spot for Wolves, but he was also guilty of missing some presentable chances during the contest.

Wolves have now slipped down to 11th place in the Premier League table, after their latest defeat.
