Robbie Fowler has told Goal that Liverpool were lucky to land Jurgen Klopp as their manager.
The German took charge at Anfield last October after they sacked Brendan Rodgers following a slow start to the season.
He has proved to be a big hit on Merseyside, leading them to the Capital One cup final and Europa League final in his first season in charge.
They failed to win either of those finals, but the feeling at the club is that they are set for a bright future under the German’s leadership.

Reds fans are hoping he can transform them as he did Borussia Dortmund and Fowler says they are lucky to have him.
“We were lucky as a club to get him,” he told Goal.
“If any club in the world was looking for an outstanding candidate to be their manager then I think he would walk into any team. Now that we’ve got him for the long-term, that puts us in good stead.”

It will certainly be interesting to see how Liverpool fare under Jurgen Klopp this season.
Their performance against Arsenal on the opening day was exciting to say the least and if that was anything to measure them by then they will certainly be contenders.
With consistency having been a problem for them though, it remains to be seen if that is a level they can hit throughout the campaign.
